UP AND COMING

NEXT SEASON

Our current Winter season is about half completed and we have opened registrations for the up and coming Spring season which will start on or about August 28 and go for around 15 weeks depending on the number of teams etc. Either register online (from the home page click “About” and then choose “Fixture Registration”) or put your name down on the Registration Sign-up Board on a Tuesday fixture night. CLOSED TOURNAMENT

This year we are reverting to a Saturday for our Annual Sunshine Coast Closed Tournament. The date is August 4 and we have booked Jubilee Hall (Maroochydore SHS) from 9am til 4pm. This tournament is open to any player who resides anywhere on the Sunshine Coast.

Planned categories are:-

• A grade, B grade, C grade and Social Singles

• Ladies’ Singles

• Junior Singles

• Veteran Men’s and Ladies’ Singles

• A and B grade Doubles

• The popular Committee Doubles

Adam Wood is the current Men’s Open Champion and Jan Yu the Ladies’. We expect to see both of these players back to defend their titles. Linda Yapp showed that she is capable of causing an upset after toppling Jan in the Veteran Ladies’ Championships last year. Jayde Treloar can never be discounted either.
