DIVISION 2 – PLAYER OF THE MONTH (June 2018)

Greg Williams has always had a big repertoire of deadly shots over the years combined with a cunning use of pimple and smooth rubbers. Whereas in past seasons you could often rely on him making just enough errors to overcome these weapons, the last few seasons he does not make so many mistakes and he has honed a few more skills such as an attacking flick for short serves.
Hence he has shot up the rankings and his team won the premiership last season with Greg being a major contributor.
Greg is president of the Maleny Club and is one of many talented players who make their way down the range each week including Russell and Jayde Treloar, Jerod and Luke Thomson, Cohen Slaughter and Patrick Keating each week.
Greg’s contribution to the community is incredible. Not only is he president of the Maleny club, he is also Vice-President of our Sunshine Coast Club and president of the very active Maleny District Sports & Recreation Club Inc
which was formed in 2008 as an incorporated umbrella organisation comprised of over 40 Maleny district incorporated clubs (sport, recreational and service clubs) and many more individual members.
Its aims are to promote sport and recreation facilities for Maleny and surrounding districts. Greg has been very active in this organisation helping sporting clubs to flourish on the range.
As if this is not enough, Greg is a qualified table tennis coach who is presently involved in his 3rd Schools Program at Meridan College. Well done Greg.
