TABLE TENNIS EXPO at MALENY

The place to be on Australia Day was the Maleny Showgrounds. What a picturesque setting and what a hive of activity.

The showgrounds were circled by a myriad of displays and “have a go” activities.

Thanks largely to Greg Williams (with generous assistance from many others), the Sunshine Coast Table Tennis display was one of the most popular.

It certainly helped to have the current Queensland champion, Bruno Levis, on hand to spread his expertise. Bruno is also 3rd ranked in Australia. He is a regular at the Maleny Club where he does coaching.

It was also nice to have a special visit from our new club patron, Division 5 Sunshine Coast Councillor, Jenny McKay, who seems keen to support our club into the future.

Thanks to the numerous club members who supported the event – displaying their skills and passing on skills to many keen potential future champions. Among those there supporting Greg on the day were Club President, Desley Payne, Club Secretary, Heather Dunlevie and husband, Brian , Martin Tribe, Judy Chin, Russell Treloar and wife, Leah ,Wayne Lilley, and Greg’s daughter, Amelia.
