SCTTC – The Latest July 27 2020
Things in table tennis are starting to get back to normal. I will try to keep you informed of the latest info:-
1.Fixtures Fixtures are due to start on Tuesday August 11 with 3 grades – A, B + C. If you are interested you should contact Joel Carpenter on 0422 482 270 (text or phone) immediately. C grade starts at 6.30pm while A and B grade will start at 7pm. Venue opens at 6.00pm.
2.Junior Program This Thursday is the last week of a 7 week program run by Jayde Treloar. The children really enjoyed it and I believe a few are contemplating fixtures. We plan to continue opening up earlier on the Thursday (ie 6pm) to encourage the juniors to maintain their interest. We hope to give them a few drills and introduce them to game play. Well done to Jayde for providing a Top Program.
There is a Spinneroos Program (for juniors) run by Patrick Wuertz which is planned to start in 4th term. More info on this to come.
3. Practice Practice at Maroochydore SHS Hall (Jubilee Hall) will continue on Tuesday night, Thursday night and Saturday morning as it has been with a few changes:-
Tuesday nights Practice as it has been starting at 6.30pm on July 28 and August 4. Then fixtures due to start on August 11.
Thursday nights The last week of the Junior Program this week (July 30) starting at 6pm . Then practice for everyone at the earlier time of 7pm. We will continue with this format for the foreseeable future.( ie Juniors only from 6pm to 7pm with everyone welcome from 7pm. Juniors can stay on after 7pm).
Saturday mornings Saturday practice will continue from 9am til 11am as long as interest continues.
4. CLOSED TOURNAMENT Our Annual Sunshine Coast TT Tournament is planned for Saturday October 17. It is open to anyone on the Sunshine Coast. As a special feature we are hoping to have a special exhibition match during the course of the day. This will feature 2 top class players soon to be announced. More info to come.
5. ALTERNATIVE PRACTICE VENUES There are a number of other alternative local practice venues available. I will list these here and give more details on the site. Go to the “About” icon on top of the home page and then choose “Alternative Practice Venues”.
