Volunteers needed to help run the 2021 National Senior, Youth, Junior and Para Championships
It’s on again, COVID restrictions permitting.
The Championships will be held at the Coloundra Indoor Stadium from 12-19 December 2021. This will be a wonderful event with the championships for these four categories being held together for the first time and should feature all our Tokyo Olympians and Paralympians. We seek support from volunteers to help run this event. Volunteers are needed from Friday 10th to Sunday 19th Dec to assist with a variety of tasks like simple administration, maintaining neat courts, retrieving balls for Para (mostly wheelchair) athletes setting up and packing away equipment. No roles require specific table tennis knowledge. Some roles require significant walking and some less so. Volunteers can expect to fill different roles sometimes even within the same shift. There will be minimal heavy work and that will be done by suitably equipped people. Most days will be organized into two shifts, one from around 8.30am to mid-afternoon and the other from mid-afternoon to evening. You can volunteer for as little as four shifts or for much more. Even children as young as 14 can volunteer. Meals will be provided when shifts span a meal time.
This is a great opportunity to showcase our region with participants coming from all over Australia, as permitted by COVID restrictions. Let’s help show them what a great place the Sunshine Coast is.
