Well done, Jim Kyle

Jim Kyle 2021 President’s Trophy Winner

At our recent AGM our club president awarded the 2021 President’s trophy to the very deserving Jim Kyle. Not only does Jim do all the constant and tedious work of looking after all our finances, his handyman skills have been used over and over.

Among the myriad of jobs Jim has done in recent years are:-

#Constructed and mounted on the wall fast access storage compartments for practice nets

#Completed the intricate job of fixing the locking mechanism on the 3 storage cupboards (I know of at least 4 others, including myself, who have attempted without success the same job)

#Mounted, for quick access, both the club first aid kit and defibrillator on the wall in the storeroom

Jim is always among the first to volunteer his services in an endless number of voluntary capacities. Examples of these are:-

Ø Always an official at the Annual Table Tennis Special Olympics held on the coast

Ø Carting table tennis tables around for Public Displays Eg at the Plaza

Ø Assisting at Sunshine Coast Closed and Open Tournaments

But probably the biggest and most demanding job that Jim does is taking the fixture fees each Tuesday while everyone else has the opportunity to warm up.

But I do have one criticism of Jim. He is such a perfect gentleman that he makes most of the rest of us, especially me, look bad.

Well done Jim. And good choosing, Desley.
