THINGS ARE HOTTING UP + more latest info

Action was furious in fixtures last week as can be seen in the photo taken above. On the left is Gary Kiorgaard about to test the reliable defence of Desley Payne.

Coen Slaughter, reserving for the injured Russell Treloar, showed what everyone knows he is capable of, when he defeated accomplished players, Ian Oakley and Jerrod Thompson.

Seng Joo Keng cemented his position on top of the A grade rankings with another 4 strong wins. He is now 7 wins ahead of the nearest contender, Dan Ettel. Joo has been very consistent in singles this season but his doubles form is a different story.

In B grade Adam Fitzsimmons surrended his lead after uncharacteristically losing 2 of his 3 matches. The new leader is Dale Parkes. Two players who are having great seasons and starting to make their way towards the lead are Bruce Taylor and Greg Williams who both won 4 from 4 last week.

Note that there are no fixtures this week (October 30). The following week (November 6) we have the AGM followed by practice. Fixtures resume on November 13.

In other news our Annual Breakup Function is set for Sunday December 9 (12 noon) at the Mooloolaba Bowls Club. Also we have a number of players who have come back from the Australian Championships in Victoria. More info about how they went to come, but I can tell you that 2 players (one a current Sunshine Coast player and one an ex- Sunshine Coast player) defeated the current World Champions on their way to medalling in doubles.
